My First Eye Floaters

I was not feeling well on 27 October 2021 so I woke up late. My right eye was itchy and rubbed the eyelid a little with my right hand. At about 1:00 PM I washed my mugs and other items, and was to prepare my brunch. I noticed some out-of-focus tangled hair strands and tried to grab them but I could not. I removed my eyeglasses, thinking they were there, but no. Moved my eyes here and there, there and here, and the black images kept moving, too.

Thought there were some hair strands in my eye so I hurriedly put water unto my right hand and washed it, but still the images were there. Later they appeared like a tadpole or comma in the right upper part, and some very tiny curved hairlines in the middle. I got frustrated, but life must go on and I have to deal with every challenge at a time.

It seems that as you grow old, many health issues are there to remind you that time is really important and priceless.

I forgot that it was Wednesday, my laundry day. As I quickly put my clothes to washing machine, I wished that like after a wash cycle, my eye floaters would be gone in a wink, or even two, away from my right eye. Sad to say, they were still there.

Nobody wants to get blind. I did my own research, watched YouTube video clips, the first one (Dr. EyeHealth's "How to Get Rid of Eye Floaters - 3 Eye Floaters Treatments". Dr. Joseph Allan has had eye floaters himself for 8-10 years) I inserted below,  read many online related articles, and joined community groups as well.  Honestly, these eye floaters made me really upset, but knowing that there are many people who have had them somehow stirred my fighting spirit.

 What possibly could cause this?
  • Too much screen time?
  • Hypertension? Or am I diabetic? I haven't had any blood checkup yet.
  • Too much citrus fruits -- 3 days before I drank squeezed squeezed grapefruits, 3 pieces; ate oranges, 2 pieces, and; took one (1) Vitamin C capsule, Nature's Bounty.
  • Stress, overthinking?
  • High energy from the sun / heat - it is very hot in my room as it has window facing east, with vacant lot beside the building, and somebody always switches off the air-conditioner?
  • Too much caffeine as I am a big coffee lover?
  • Less water intake, and different brand (I used to drink Arwa water, but now it's another brand)?
  • No exercise, sedentary life?
  • No exposure to morning sunshine, lack of Vitamin D?
  • Exposure to cleaning materials, as I cleaned our CR especially the sink with disinfectant daily, and the day before, I cleaned things under my table, using same disinfectant?
  • Sleeping facing the right side?
  • Lack of proper nutrition, less anti-inflammatory foods intake?
  • Slow metabolism?
As I would read more articles related to eye floaters, I would add possible causes in the future.

They say that it is normal for aging people particularly if always hooked to screen, and they may go away in six (6) months.

I prefer natural ways of treatment so I resorted to
  • Massaging my forehead and eyebrows with castor oil
  • Forehead and head tapping
  • Eye rest and relaxation
By now I will hack my brains and try to live with them, the 'adaptation' thing, and fervently pray that I will experience God's divine healing power again.

Four (4) days since the day I first saw my eye floaters, and still they are here.

Some takeaways from comments (video) --
  • Lemon balm capsules / tea
  • More water intake / hydration
  • More sleep
  • Avoid stressors (bad relationship)
  • Blue light - blocking eyeglasses
  • Less exposure to blue / LED lights
  • Pineapple
